focus fatigue (2016)
for hexaphonic pick up system, two electric guitars and 12 guitar amps

“focus fatigue” is what I imagine a collaborating between Terry Riley, Van Halen, Sunn o))) and Marcel Duchamp would sound like. In this piece the physicality of the electric guitar is distilled and recontextualized. The hexaphonic pick-ups isolate the signal of each string and feeds it via 12 separate effect chains into 12 separate amps, entrenching the audience in creamy distortion rich with guitar hero connotations.
“focus fatigue” was commissioned by View From Nowhere and supported by Det Norske Komponistfond but has never been performed.
